Head of Hockey

Head of Hockey

 Term Time only

A well-qualified graduate and outstanding hockey coach is required to take the leading role in the continued development of hockey as one of the School’s major sports for both girls and boys.  The successful candidate would ideally have experience of the England Hockey Player Pathway and have coached and/or played at National League level.

The candidate will be an exemplary coach and be able to coach a second sport, ideally athletics, tennis or cricket. There is no requirement to teach academic PE.  The Head of Hockey will be expected to contribute fully to the wider co-curricular and boarding life of the School.  The role includes Saturday fixtures during term time, as well as pre-season training and tours both in the UK and international.  During the School’s holidays, the Head of Hockey will work with children attending summer camps and sports camps, as required.

The School enjoys first class facilities, including: national standard athletics track, 2 hockey all-weather pitches (1 floodlit), a 3G rugby training pitch, extensive playing fields, 25m 6-lane indoor pool, 10 floodlit tennis/netball courts, 12 golf nets, sports hall and purpose built fitness suite.  New Hall has a strong reputation for sport, with students competing at county, regional and national level in a wide range of sports.

A competitive salary will be offered and will be pro-rated based on the hours worked.
