The Dance Department offers examinations in ISTD Tap, Modern, Jazz and Cecchetti Ballet.  We compete in the numerous dance festivals throughout the year with our Festival Dance Team.  Students have the opportunity to study AS and A Level Dance as part of their co-curricular subjects.

The Dance School runs lunchtime and after school classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acrobatic, Musical Theatre and Modern. Every year there is a big end of year dance shows for students to take part in at Chelmsford Theatre, giving students the opportunity to perform in a large capacity venue with professional staging.

The Dance Company has been established for over 20 years and was set up to facilitate the increased demand from students who wanted more opportunities to train and perform. The Company has taken part in a variety of events, such as dancing at Disneyland Paris, Sadler’s Wells and The Savoy Hotel in London, and has an important role in supporting the Dance Department within the School.

Fellow students have progressed to train at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, The Royal Ballet School, Bird College and Laine Theatre Arts.
