Petre House Leavers’ Dinner

Date Posted: Wednesday 04 May 2022

petre dinnerWhilst seeming somewhat premature to be saying goodbye to our Year 11 boarders, the busy weeks ahead before the GCSE examinations start meant that Tuesday 3 May was the ideal opportunity to celebrate their time in Petre House.  Long-serving veteran boarder, Haris, who joined as a Year 3 boarder, and the other boarders with their five-year ’terms’, all enjoyed recalling fond memories of their time in Earle Wing and the main house.

Mr Makin, Head of Petre House, is delighted to have shared this time with them all and was able to dig out many photographs of the boys looking rather more juvenile!  Prajjawol, Head of House, gave a heartfelt speech and shared many of his own favourite memories.  All the boys were given awards recognising their unique characteristics and qualities. They also received personalised Petre House cufflinks to mark the occasion and commemorate their contributions to boarding life at New Hall.

The Catering Team ensured that this was a very special evening by providing one of their exquisite three course dinners. Furthermore, special guest Mrs Champ, Petre House’s retired Housekeeper, joined the boys on their celebratory night.  The Petre boys were also very grateful for Mrs Jeffrey’s attendance in support of this special event.  With only a short time left before examination preparation starts, we would like to wish our Year 11 boarders the greatest successes in all their future endeavours.  The boys will continue to make us #PetreProud in all that they do.
