In December, the Dance Department was busy filming their rendition of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov’s The Nutcracker. Involving dancers from Year 2 to Year 13, the production was originally planned to take place in May, but due to the pandemic, the Dance Department decided to adapt the performance into a short film set around the spectacular school grounds. For Act 1, the Ambulacrum was transformed into the traditional setting of The Stahlbaum Home, whilst Act 2 was filmed in the brand-new Walkfares Performance Canopy, providing dancers with enough space and freedom to create their spectacular routines.
The full movie was streamed on Christmas Eve for families to enjoy as a festive treat.
