The New Hall tennis teams did exceptionally well in national events last year and have been ranked within the Top 20 school in the UK for boys and girls tennis. The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has published the year-end rankings for 2019, based on performances within the National Championships, Team Tennis and Senior Student Competitions.

The girls’ tennis team recorded their highest finish to date, with an outstanding 7th place finish in the UK for 2019. This success was down to their performance within the Aberdare Cup, reaching the National Finals and finishing 10th in the UK. They also reached the Regional Finals in the Team Tennis Competition and made the Regional Final of the Senior Students Competition.

The boys’ tennis team also performed extremely well, placing 20th in the UK after some excellent results in the Team Tennis Competitions and Glanville Cup. They made the Regional Finals of both competitions this year and were unfortunate not to progress through to the National Finals, narrowly losing out to Culford School in the National Cup.
