New Hall School welcomes its youngest pupils to the new Nursery

The start of the 2019-2020 academic year at New Hall also marks the opening of the School’s brand new Nursery. Constructed by The Stable Company, the traditionally-clad building makes a fitting addition to the School’s historic setting while providing an inspiring environment for New Hall’s youngest pupils to explore, develop and grow.

“Establishing a new Nursery allows New Hall to offer excellent wraparound care to more families and to expand the School’s promise to provide the best start in life,”

Katherine Jeffrey, Principal.

The addition of the new building expands the School’s provision to provide wraparound care for children starting at the age of 1, from 8.00am until 6.00pm, with extended day care on offer from 7.30am and 6.30pm.

Located in New Hall’s semi-rural 70-acre setting, the new purpose-built, timber framed Nursery offers a welcoming, nurturing and stimulating space for pupils aged 1 – 4. Bright, spacious and comfortable rooms provide a canvas for arts and crafts, sensory and messy play, dance and music, all of which support the curriculum’s seven areas of learning: Personal, Social & Emotional, Physical & Communication & Language Development, Literacy, Understanding the World, Mathematics and Expressive Arts & Design. The Nursery also has an exceptional outdoor learning environment which, in addition to the New Hall Forest School, allows the pupils to experience and interact with the natural world.

“We’re very happy to welcome new pupils to New Hall as part of the School’s brand new nursery provision,” said Lynne Baines, Nursery Manager. “As a team we’re excited to get to know the children joining us. The new Nursery offers outstanding facilities for the children to discover and enjoy.” Mrs Baines is supported by a team of experienced Early Years Practitioners, midday assistants and after school care staff in promoting learning at each stage of the pupil’s development, using the Nursery’s amenities to facilitate all elements of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Alongside a successful academic programme, New Hall School provides excellent facilities and training for budding sports stars and fantastic music and performing arts provision. The Catholic boarding and day school for students aged 1-18 has a distinctive ‘diamond model structure’ and a strong ethos of pastoral care, which supports students in their endeavours, allowing them to achieve success in a wide variety of fields.
