Date Posted: Tuesday 26 November 2019

New Hall is marking an impressive rise of 80 places in The Sunday Times’ listing of independent schools in the country. The School’s excellent 2019 A Level results now places them in the Top 150 Independent Schools in the UK. New Hall is placed sixth in The Sunday Times’ list of Top 20 Independent Schools in East Anglia.

Over the summer, New Hall celebrated record results, with over half of all A Level grades at A* /A and 84% of A Level grades at A* – B. At GCSE level, 90% of grades achieved were A* – B, including A*/A grades for 81% of the twenty-one New Hall Preparatory Division 11-year olds, who achieved a Level 1 GCSE in their Politics Foundation Project Qualifications.

The School’s ascent in The Sunday Times rankings, comes at the end of a year which began with a glowing report in the Denominational Inspection by the Diocese of Brentwood. The inspectors found the school to be ‘outstanding’ overall and highlighted aspects of school life that led to this outcome, including the pastoral care, spiritual support, and the provision of religious education at New Hall.
