NEW HALL CATHOLIC AND ANGLICAN CONFIRMATIONS

Date Posted: Monday 17 February 2020

The Confirmation Preparation Programme at New Hall is unique as it sees the Catholic and Anglican students working together to explore their faith with the support of Chaplains, Catechists and members of the Anglican Church teams.

On 30 January, the School had the great honour of welcoming Rt Revd Alan Williams, Bishop of Brentwood, to celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation. 11 students received the sacrament in the School’s Chapel. The Mass was attended by parents, sponsors, fellow students and staff and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The following week, on 6 February, the School were lucky enough to welcome another highly respected member of the community, John Perumbalath, Bishop of Bradwell. The Bishop confirmed two students, Elizabeth and William, in a moving Anglican ceremony attended by their family, friends and staff. The special occasion was celebrated with loved ones of the students.

Principal, Mrs Katherine Jeffrey, commented on the ceremony: “It is a privilege to witness our young people make their own commitment before the community”. Mrs Jeffrey expressed her pride in the students as they made this significant step in their faith journey and thanked all those who helped the students prepare.
