Mrs Cooper, one of New Hall’s longstanding Sport Coaches, has received the fantastic news of her selection to play for the England Women’s Masters O50s Team in the upcoming Hockey World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa from 1-10 October.

Now in her eighth year of working at New Hall in both the Preparatory and Senior Divisions, Mrs Cooper enjoys developing all students’ sporting ability, be it in their individual skills or their team play. Mrs Cooper attributes her dedication to hockey to her father, who was a also coach. She started playing at club level from eight years old, followed by junior and senior county selection, then regional and English university teams. She currently coaches and plays at Chelmsford Hockey Club.

She says: “I love the competitive nature of the game, the physicality and also the camaraderie and lifelong friends you make. I am very excited to play for my country against international opposition and hope that I can inspire more New Hall students to strive to achieve their sporting ambitions.”
