Jubilee Music-making

Date Posted: Monday 06 June 2022

Many of our students participated in events and celebrations to mark the Platinum Jubilee of  HM Queen Elizabeth II over the half-term holiday. Amelie and Benji (Year 7) performed in a joint Evensong of Celebration in Chelmsford Cathedral as part of a combined choir from Chelmsford and Brentwood Cathedrals. The High Sheriff of Essex and HM Lord-lieutenant were both in attendance and the choristers enjoyed spending time with them after the service.

Carlos (Year 8) played for the lighting of the Herongate Beacon with Brentwood Imperial Youth Band, who were awarded the Queen’s Voluntary Service Award, marking their significant charitable and volunteering contributions to the community.

Freddie (Year 10) also supported a local event, playing a celebratory fanfare for the lighting of Boreham Parish’s beacon. We are very proud of our students who continue to engage with music-making outside of School, particularly in support of such notable and deserving events.
