Diversity Day

Date Posted: Friday 04 June 2021

Tuesday 25 May was Diversity Day across New Hall School, marked by students in Prep and Senior Divisions wearing colourful tops symbolising the diversity within our School and a series of activities both in the curriculum and the co-curriculum. Miss Downes, Sport Coach & Boarding Tutor, prepared an excellent assembly marking Diversity Day that considered examples of stereotypes. The assembly also highlighted the beauty of embracing our differences. At lunchtime, there was a compelling Diversity Forum hosted by Miss Webb, Head of Theology, that addressed the question ‘what does it feel like to be in your skin?’. Student and staff panellists shared their experiences of being part of the New Hall community and of living in the UK and they responded to audience questions. Thank you to our panellists for their honest and open contributions about race and heritage.
