C’etait Genial! Half Term Paris Trips

Date Posted: Wednesday 08 June 2022

During half-term, groups of Year 7 & 9 students visited Paris for a language and cultural trip.

As well as practicing their French speaking skills throughout, the students enjoyed a relaxing boat cruise on the river Seine, admiring Paris landmarks such as La Tour Eiffel and Notre Dame. Benefiting from sunny weather for the week, they visited a host of exciting venues such as Tour Montparnasse where they were able to admire magnificent views of the city. The itinerary also included visits to the Musee d’Orsay, Sacre Coeur, Le Jardin des Tuileries and Champs Elysees.

Two key attractions vied for the most popular on the long list of ‘great things to do on a trip to Paris’ – the Parc Asterix rollercoaster and the Stade de France, where students had the opportunity to make a grand entrance onto the pitch.

Lily C (Year 8), said: “I am so glad that I had the opportunity to go to Paris with the School. I had such a good time with my friends. My favourite part was the boat ride on the river because we saw many Paris attractions and we saw many wonderful things. I am very happy that I went and would love to go again.”

Toby (Year 8), added: “My time in Paris was very enriching and enjoyable. I learned many things about French culture, ways of life and language vital to everyday life in France. Sites we visited included the Pantheon (a burial ground for famous French people), the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and many more iconic landmarks, my favourite of which was Montparnasse, an amazing tower (nearly as tall as the Eiffel Tower) where we had a wonderful view.”
