A Clean Sweep for the New Hall Ski Team

Date Posted: Friday 15 October 2021

The last half term has marked a very important stepping stone for the New Hall Ski Team. The team members showed dedication, support for each other, the quality of their training and talent evident in fantastic results in multiple races in which they took part over the course of the past few months. In the ESSKIA National Finals on 9-10 October in Norwich, New Hall was the only school to gain three automatic qualified teams. Thanks to this achievement, we will be regarded as one of the top skiing schools in the country.

On the first day of the ESSKIA National Finals, the U12 Boys team came 1st (Leo, Rafferty, Ben, Leo); the U16 Boys team came 1st (Max, Aidan, Connor, Alex) & the U19 Girls team came 2nd (Sophie, Emily, Chloe, Ciara). On the second day, all four teams involved did brilliantly, and three of them have automatically qualified to the British Finals in Llandudno. The Boys A team came 1st (Aidan, Connor, Max, Alex) & the Girls A Team came 2nd (Sophie, Chloe, Eleanor, Emily).

On Monday 4 October, the team took part in the ISA Ski Race. Both individually and as teams, the racers were phenomenal. In the Junior categories, the A Team (Robert, Lucas, Leo and Rafferty) came 1st in the Boys division and the B Team (Leo, Isabella, Roberta, Ben) came 1st in the Mixed Divisions. In the Senior categories, the A Team (Millie, Sophie, Emily, Alex) came 1st, the B Team (Chloe, Freesia, Oscar) came 3rd and the C Team (Eleanor, Aidan, Connor, Bobby) came 4th all in the mixed division.
