Sixth Form Students Tackle Challenging Ethical and Philosophical Topics

Date Posted: Sunday 06 January 2019

On 10 and 11 October, Sixth Form students at New Hall School, Chelmsford, participated in a two-day Human and Spiritual event, hosted by Dr Peter Vardy, a renowned lecturer and prolific author.

The students worked alongside Dr Vardy to tackle several ethical and philosophical topics, ranging from abortion and euthanasia, to ‘Who is Jesus?’ During the final session of each day, the students were invited to engage in a debate based upon statements such as: ‘This house believes that faith is anti-intellectual’, and ‘This house believes in life after death’. These sessions provided the students with the opportunity to delve deeper into challenging ethical and spiritual topics.
