This position is available from April 2019 (later start date negotiable).

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Roman Catholic priest to join a large and vibrant Chaplaincy Team, working alongside the Lay Chaplains and reporting to the Principal.  We are seeking a skilled, compassionate Chaplain to serve and support the community of students, staff and parents, in particular the residential community of 260 boarders, aged 7-18.  The Chaplain will celebrate a weekly Sunday evening Mass for boarders and weekday Masses for the wider school community, as required.  The successful candidate will be well qualified, confident and articulate in discussing theological, moral and spiritual issues with young people and may contribute to RE/Theology teaching if desired.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to devise and lead liturgies and prayer opportunities are essential.  Working hours will vary and will include weekdays, evenings and weekends during term time.  This post may be residential or non-residential and there is an option of either a fixed term 2-year contract or a permanent position.  The post may be all year round or term time only.

The school has a flourishing, successful Theology Department of 9 teachers, together with a strong Music Department and choral tradition.  Potential candidates are encouraged to visit the school or contact Andrew Fardell, Deputy Principal, on the contact details below, with any questions.

Applications should be made as soon as possible. The final interviews will take place in December 2018.

New Hall is committed to safeguarding pupils.  There will be an enhanced  DBS check prior to appointment.
