Extra-Curricular Riding Lessons

New Hall provides students with the opportunity to participate in weekly horse-riding lessons at Runningwell Equestrian Centre.

Runningwell is an approved BHS/ABRS Riding School and Training Centre with friendly BHS qualified instructors and staff with experience of teaching all levels. Lessons are in small groups which are split based on ability and age and riders are provided with selected horses and ponies from safe lead reign to ex-competition horses.

Runningwell have some great facilities including:
• Two indoor schools
• Outdoor school
• Lounge arena
• Outdoor, derby style show jumping paddock, on grass, with full set of show jumps.
• Grass gallops.
• Cross country course.
• Private off road hacking
• Lecture rooms.
• Cafeteria offering hot and cold food, and snacks.

Horse & Pony Care
Runningwell also provides the opportunity to learn about caring for horses. There are sessions which run from simple horse and pony care for little riders to BHS stage 4 level sessions. This is a great way for those that enjoy riding to expand their knowledge and learn more about the actual care of horses.

Own a Pony Day
This is a chance to own your own pony for the day! The day starts with instruction and practise in caring for your pony. This is followed by a riding lesson, lunch, a quiz and finishes with a fun gymkhana. Certificates and rosettes are provided for all riders.

Pony Club Centre
Runningwell is also a Pony Club Riding Centre, offering membership of The Pony Club to non pony owning children.It operates in the same way as a Pony Club branch, and provides the same opportunities to:
• Have lots of fun
• Make new friends who share your love of ponies
• Learn all about looking after ponies
• Improve your riding
• Study for and take pony club exams and achievement badges
• Compete in a variety of riding disciplines
• Join in the fun of an annual pony club camp

Stable Management sessions at Runningwell Equestrian Centre for New Hall students are available on a fortnightly basis commencing on Saturday 15 January 2011. These will be held from 1.30-3.00pm and are priced at £15.00 per session.

Please note that your child must be a pony club member to participate.
