District Athletics Championships
On 22 June 14 girls took part and the competition was of a very high standard. The team did incredibly well and these are just some of the fantastic results. Overall, the girls’ team came 3rd in the Relay Cup and 3rd in the whole competition.
Year 7:
• Georgina Sturgeon won the District 800m Champion by over 30m with a time of 2m37s.
• Alexandra Burnham won the 70m Hurdle with a personal best of 12m97s.
• Jemima Walker placed 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 5m24.94s; a personal best.
• Lydia Allen placed 2nd in the Discus with 17.36m.
Year 8:
• Marni Gaskin won 75m Hurdle with a time of 12m37s; a personal best.
• Annie Meechan won Discus with 20m.
• Courtney Sanders placed 2nd in the 1500m with a time of 5m34s; a personal best.
• Lucy Cracknell placed 2nd in the Javelin with 18m.
• Freya Pelling placed 2nd in the 100m with a time of 13m66s.
• Oliver Swallow finished in 1st place in the 1500m.
• Benjamin Coker finished in 2nd place in the High Jump.
Year 9:
• Lucy Salter finished in 2nd place in the Shot Put with 7.39m.
• Joshua Pitman finished in 2nd place in the Shot Put.
Year 10:
• Elizabeth Hatch won Shot Put with 8.01m.
• Jessica Swain-Johnson finished in 2nd place in the 1500m.
• Charlotte Burnham finished in 2nd place in the 800m with a time of 2m40s.
• George Perkins finished in 1st place in the 200m with a time of 21.5s.
