Extra-Curricular Life at New Hall Preparatory School

All children in Key Stage 2 have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of Extra-Curricular activities beginning at 4.15pm for Years 3 & 4 and 4.45pm for Years 5 & 6 each evening following the Study Session. A timetable is circulated termly and pupils are encouraged to sign up to attend any activity for a minimum of one term.

Sports
New Hall Preparatory School has a tradition of competing in a wide range of sports. The school
offers a variety of extra-curricular sports including Football, Rugby, Swimming, Cross-Country,
Athletics, Netball, Tennis, Cricket and Rounders.

Dance
If you are interested in your child having Ballet, Tap or Creative Dance lessons, please advise the
school in writing.

Music
Visiting peripatetic staff offer tuition in a wide range of musical instruments. Please contact the School Office for a copy of our Instrumental Tuition Policy and an application form which should be returned to the Music Administrator, Mrs A Warren.

Tennis

Fencing

Gymnastics

Horse Riding
Horse riding lessons are available to pupils from Year 3 and take place at Runningwell Equestrian Centre, Warren Road, Rettendon, Chelmsford and run after school. Pupils participate in group lessons of about 6 or 8 riders, with the groups being assessed on riding ability. Lessons are 45 minutes long and commence at various times depending on age and ability.
