Year 8 Netball Team Successes
On Wednesday 17 March the Year 8 netball team participated in the Felsted Netball Tournament.
We won our games against Felsted 7-4, Holmwood House 9-2, Bishop's Stortford College 7-5, Brandeston Hall 4-1, St Faiths 4-3. We had a tough game against Ipswich and just lost 5-7.
The strong Year 8 team made it through to the finals and came 3rd overall, out of 14 independent schools. The eventual winners were Haileybury and Ipswich came 2nd.
The New Hall Year 8 team also became the winners of the Central Essex Netball Tournament hosted at New Hall a day later.
The Year 8 team played with determination throughout the tournament and stormed through to win every game including their match against Chelmsford County High School. They then went on to play an exciting final against Chelmer Valley High School, winning 6-2.
For the first time in many years New Hall were crowned the overall winners of the tournament, which is a fantastic achievement against some very strong schools. The girls must be commended for their outstanding success in this competition and other fixtures this term.
