Year 5 Egyptian Day
On Monday 17 May, Year 5 enjoyed an exciting Egyptian experience.
Pupils spent the day as apprentices, learning a number of new skills. They enjoyed a variety of activities, including carving soap sculptures and wrapping bandages around clothes peg mummies. Using clay, the pupils made canopic jars and cones, into which they poured perfumed wax to produce “head cones”. They also perfected the skill of Egyptian painting and experimented with burning olive oil. After lunch, they were all summoned to a feast, by the new Pharaoh and delighted him with their dancing, acting and fortune telling.
Thank you to our wonderful helpers who joined in with great enthusiasm and to all of the parents who provided the fantastic costumes.
