Spring Concert

Congratulations to all those involved in the Spring Concert which was held on Friday 2 March. A special mention goes to members of the wind band and brass group who performed with confidence in their first major concert. There was Haydn from the string quartet and Glinka from the piano trio; the chamber choir performed three beautiful 20th century songs before the classic – The Rhythm of Life. Saxtet and The Jazz Initiative injected some rhythmic swing into the concert before the orchestra performed the first movement of Beethoven’s 8th Symphony and the slow movement of the Mozart Elvira Madigan piano concerto with Ria Oberdieck as the accomplished soloist. The concert ended with the orchestra on sparkling form in Pirates of the Caribbean.
