Sports Awards Evening
We were delighted to welcome Nasser Hussain, former England Cricket Captain and current Cricket Professional at New Hall, as the Guest of Honour at the Sports Awards Evening on 6 July.
Nasser inspired everyone with his address, encouraging students to believe in themselves and to make the most of the wonderful opportunities their parents have generously given them by sending them to New Hall.
He gave wise counsel about the determination and perseverance needed to make it to the top in sport, as well as the value of simply enjoying sport for its many benefits and the great teamwork experienced.
The Teams of the Year were the boys’ U18 tennis team and the girls’ U13 netball team.
The Principal’s Awards for Sport went to: Stephen Tully, Rosie Oxlade (Year 7); Matthew Crawley, Tara King (Year 8); Casey Morgan, Annabel Hockley (Year 9); Samuel Prebble, Alexandra Marler (Year 10); Clara Spicer (Year 11); James Pinkerton and Annabel Schwier (Sixth Form). The Sportsmen/women of the Year were: Henry Baird, Eleanor McCaffrey (Year 7); George Styles, Ailish Hunt (Year 8); George Perkins, Charlotte Burnham (Year 9); Thomas Styles, Nadia Wheadon (Year 10); Ella Dziewski (Year 11) and Kate Maxey (Sixth Form).
