Scholars’ Recital
In a delightful programme, the Senior School Music Scholars entertained the audience with solo performances in a special recital on 19 October.
The scholars performed diverse works from a selection of composers from Sting and Lloyd-Webber to Mozart, Purcell and Brahms. Particular mention goes to Molly Conrad (Year 8) for her rendition of Papillons by Dennison on piano, Coralie Smart (Year 13) for her Andantino from Sonata by Saint-Saens on oboe and to our new Year 7 scholars; Gabriel Summers played Album Leaf by Grieg with great gusto on the trumpet and Olivia Podd brought a smile to everyone’s faces with a Teddy Bears’ Picnic on bassoon. The evening finished with an outstanding performance of Adoration by Borowski by Fay Archer (Year 8) on violin, which was greeted with rapturous applause.
Well done to all scholars for their continued hard work and contribution to the musical life of the school.
