National Finalist in Amnesty International Competition





Alice Baxter (Year 8) has reached the final 10 of the Amnesty International & Guardian Young Human Rights Reporter of the Year National Competition.

Students between 7 and 14 years old were asked to write 200-250 words on a human rights story. Winners will be invited on an expenses paid VIP trip to the Amnesty International UK and Guardian HQs in London. Extracts of the winning articles from each age category will be published in the Education supplement of The Guardian newspaper on 1 June 2010.

Alice was delighted to hear the news, as she hopes to pursue a career in journalism. We congratulate Alice on her achievement and look forward to hearing the final result.
