Maggini Quartet's spectacular performance in the New Hall Chapel
The Maggini Quartet gave a spectacular performance in the Chapel on Friday 26 February.
Formed in 1988, the Maggini Quartet is established as one of the finest British string quartets, both in performance and through its international multi-award winning recordings. We were delighted to be able to host this prestigious British string quartet at New Hall.
The programme began with Beethoven’s Quartet in A Major Op.18 No.5, followed by a hauntingly beautiful performance of Dvorak’s Quartet in Eb Major Op.15. Following a brief interval, the audience were treated to the exquisite Mozart Clarinet Quintet in A Major K.581 with Director of Music, Andrew Fardell, on clarinet. It was a wonderful evening of music and was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.
