Independent Schools' Mass

On Friday 18 June, New Hall hosted a special Mass for Catholic Independent Schools in the Diocese of Brentwood.

The Mass was con-celebrated by Bishop Thomas, our local Parish Priest Fr Frank Jackson and Fr Michael Butler Governor and Parish Priest of Old Harlow under the theme of We are one body in Christ.

It was a wonderful occasion attended by 6 of the 8 independent schools in the Diocese and members of our religious community. Each school provided a bidding prayer and presented an item, symbolising their school, in the offertory procession.

The Mass also celebrated the 60th anniversary of Loyola Preparatory School, whose choir performed a wonderful recital of The Grail Prayer during Communion. Our own Preparatory School provided talented musicians and a delightful choir who performed throughout the Mass, together with members of the Senior School.
