Congratulations to George Perkins (Year 10), who has been nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award. Congratulations also to both the U15 and U18 boys’ tennis teams, who have been nominated for the Young Team of the Year award.

Last year, George won the title of England Schools Junior Boys’ 100m Champion. George competes at an excellent standard in athletics and rugby. Last year, the U15 boys’ tennis team became County Champions and then went on to compete in the Regional Rounds of the National Schools’ Competition and made it through to the semi-finals. The U18 tennis team have had a fantastic year. The boys played in this year’s Glanvill Cup and became Regional Champions. The team then won their place in the National Finals and compete against the other top 16 schools in the UK. The team played exceptionally well, achieving a national ranking of 14th. The combined success of both tennis teams have seen New Hall being ranked 11th nationally in the top 25 performing schools in the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Series.
