Year 5 had a “brought-to-life” Egyptian day. In the morning we were looking after shops. The shops included a scribe, canopic jars made by hand, carving, mummification, wax cones and magical amulets.
We were told that the job had to be done perfectly (which made the teachers happy and gave them ideas for lessons!). In fact some people were sent back 4 times just to do the job correctly. In the afternoon we had a banquet, and bad news! The pharaoh Ankenaten had been poisoned, but just because he couldn’t attend, that didn’t mean we weren’t having a great time! The banquet was amazing. There was dancing, acting, eating and drinking. There was even a bull who told the future!
