Over the weekend of 6-8 May, 17 students from Years 12 and 13 spent three days and two nights on the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award practice expedition on the South Downs. Despite the arrival of the long-awaited rain, all three groups managed to remain cheerful and positive throughout; the hard ground caused a number of sore knees and feet, but the 18km per day schedule was completed successfully and weary bodies returned to school just about in one piece! The qualifying expeditions for both Bronze and Silver will take place at the end of June, after public examinations are concluded. Thanks to Mrs Curtis for organising the expeditions.
