Ten members of the Chamber Choir spent a very enjoyable weekend in Bruges singing, sight-seeing and experiencing the world’s best chocolate. Highlights of the trip were two Masses; the first in Our Lady’s Church in the centre of Bruges, which houses one of the few Michelangelo sculptures to be seen outside Italy, and the second in the Chapel of St Trudo’s Abbey in the village of Male, which is the home to a group of the Canonnesses of the Holy Sepulchre – the same order as New Hall’s religious community. School singers last visited Male twenty years ago and it was good to experience the same warmth and hospitality from the community.
