Four A Level music students took part in a lunchtime recital at Trinity Methodist Church, Chelmsford, on Wednesday last week in preparation for their imminent A Level examination recital. Coralie Smart opened the recital with a programme of Liszt Consolations: 2 in E major; 3 in Db major and 5 in E major. Lara-Jayne Ellice featured twentieth century harp masters with Esqisse, Danse D’Autrefois and Angelus by H Renie and Seguidilla by Salzedo. Pan Hu focussed her recital on Chopin Etudes: Op10 no.3; Op10 no.6; Op10 no.12 and Kayleigh McEvoy’s programme of ‘Love in Eighteenth Century Italian Opera’ finished the recital with performances of O del mio dolce ardour by Gluck, Donne vaghe by Paisiello, Marito vorrei by Mozart and Voi, che sapete by Mozart. The music was of a very high standard and the audience of over 60 were very appreciative. Profits made by tickets sales were donated to the Trinity Church restoration appeal.
