Location
New Hall enjoys extensive grounds and an enviable location. We are sited just off the main A12 dual carriageway 3 miles from the centre of Chelmsford and its main line station. The school enjoys a degree of seclusion yet remains within easy reach of major routes. Transport can be arranged to and from the major airports each term and at half term for full boarders from overseas. Should you wish your child to be accompanied, this can be arranged. The school can assist parents in organising car shares.

Directions
From London and Brentwood
Follow the A12 London to Colchester road. Ignore all the turnings to Chelmsford i.e. A1016, B1007, A130 & A414. Leave the A12 at junction 19, at the exit signed A138 - Chelmsford (Springfield). There is also a sign for A130 and Stansted Airport, and a local sign for the Chelmsford Cattle Market and Car Auction. At the end of the slip road, take the second exit from the roundabout towards Springfield. At the next roundabout, turn right (second exit). The White Hart pub is on your left and Sainsbury’s is on the right. This is White Hart Lane and also the A130 to Stansted. From this direction there is no right turn into New Hall, so travel to the next roundabout and return back on yourself in order to turn left into New Hall’s entrance. The entrance to the school is on the left after 350m.
From Colchester and Suffolk
Follow the A12 London to Colchester road. Leave the A12 at junction 19, at the first exit for Chelmsford (A138). From the slip road, follow the local signs for Springfield and Chelmer Village by taking the third exit from the first roundabout. At the next roundabout take the first exit and keep following the signs for Stansted Airport. Take the second exit from the next roundabout, and at the next roundabout turn right (second exit). The White Hart pub is on the left and Sainsbury’s is on the right. This is White Hart Lane and also the A130. From this direction there is no right turn into New Hall, so travel to the next roundabout and return back on yourself in order to turn left into New Hall’s entrance. From Braintree and Dunmow
Follow the new A130 from Cambridge to London, to the roundabout near Chelmsford. Take the first exit (on the left) and go straight over the next two roundabouts. Do not turn off for Chelmsford; follow signs for Boreham. Just before the bridge over the A138 and railway, you will find the entrance to New Hall on the left.

Access by rail and air
Trains from London depart from Liverpool Street Station every 10 minutes in peak times; the journey takes
approximately 30 minutes. The school can arrange collection from Chelmsford station, either by taxi or by the daily New Hall bus service. The nearest airport is Stansted, which is approximately 30 minutes drive. The journey from either Heathrow or Gatwick via the M25 takes about an hour and a half.
