Tennis

Tennis has grown from strength to strength at New Hall over the last years. The school now has a designated tennis professional living on site and all tennis pupils have the opportunity to receive weekly coaching both on a private basis and as part of a group at the School, with all coaching being carried out by fully licensed and insured LTA coaches. Tennis runs throughout the academic year with a number of tennis camps being held during the school holidays.
New Hall has excellent tennis facilities with 10 floodlit tennis courts. The coaching staff are able to offer tennis coaching to all levels and New Hall can provided the perfect setting to both develop your playing level and further your academic study.
Both the boys' and girls' teams have a busy fixture schedule during the summer term with fixtures against a number of the local and regional independent schools. New Hall also enters the national tennis competitions including the Junior Nestle, the Aberdare and Glanvill Cups. In addition the boys and girls both compete in the local Essex tennis leagues on a Saturday morning which provides a chance for competitive tennis throughout the year.

The standard of tennis is improving all the time and the students show a great eagerness to improve and develop their game. The boys standard at U13 is particularly strong in the juniors, with many of them holding high LTA ratings. New Hall has a number of tennis teams who train several times a week, there are also development and academy squads for those children who are highlighted as having more potential and a higher playing level.
There are a number of internal tennis event which are held throughout the year which include both doubles and singles competition for various age groups. We also run Inter House tennis competition and Staff pupil tennis events.
New Hall continues to attract a number of promising young tennis players.
