Headteacher: Mr D Callender, BA (York)
David Callender read Chemistry at York and studied for his teaching qualification at Leeds. He has held various management posts in other Catholic Schools in the county but came to New Hall as Deputy Head in 1998 when his own daughter was a student here. David is a great supporter of County Cricket, plays squash, reads avidly and has an eclectic interest in music. He is now a Team Inspector for the Independent Schools Inspectorate.

Deputy Head: Mrs S Conrad, BA (Durham)
Sarah Conrad completed her Combined Studies (English, Theology, German) degree and PGCE at Durham and has spent the last 5 years as Director of Music at St Cedd's Preparatory School in Chelmsford. Previously, she worked in Singapore in Tanglin Trust School, the largest British Primary School in the world, as a Key Stage 1 teacher and then as Assistant Director of Music. Sarah has travelled extensively throughout South East Asia, broadening her horizons immensely. Sarah has a passion for music and plays the piano, flute, and guitar as well as singing. She has a particular interest in music, liturgy and children's spirituality and has led several courses throughout the Diocese for the Brentwood Religious Education Service over the last few years, both for primary teachers and church catechists. Interests include travel, reading and "scrapping" (the art of creating beautiful photograph albums)!

Head of Foundation and Key Stage 1: Miss J Ullmer, BA(Hons)(Leicester) PGCE(Nottingham)
Jane Ullmer read Psychology and Sociology at Leicester and studied for her teaching qualification at Nottingham University. She has spent the last 6 years at St Cedd's Preparatory School where she taught Year 1 and Reception. In her final year there she also took up the role of Educational Support Co-ordinator. Her interests include going to the theatre, reading, listening to music and sport. She enjoys playing netball once a week in the Chelmsford & District League.

Head of Key Stage 2: Mrs S Kightley, Cert Ed (Bristol), BA(ARU)
Sara Kightley was raised and educated in Bristol and completed her probationary teaching year in Frampton-on-Severn County Primary School. After a commercial career in accountancy and consumer credit, she returned to teaching in 1989 after a spell as Chairman of the local playgroup and joined New Hall in 1997. Sara is married with two children and interests include water gardening, small animal husbandry and furthering her own education.
